Dear Clients and Friends,
The Studio in its current form is colourful, challenging, and for the most also quite clinical. It takes a lot of energy to offer the kind of quality and depth of treatment that I need to give.
Running the classes, staff, and paperwork side of Bravebody has not been my forte, and I truly don’t like doing it. I’m just an educator, not a manager, and all I really want to do is teach, and teach well. With recent personal and family changes I have decided to return to a purely private practice as of December 15 2011.
Bravebody as a storefront studio has been a wonderful experience for me. Working with our talented Instructors, and meeting and connecting with the neighbourhood through the Studio has truly enriched my teaching and my life. Please rest assured I am not shutting down my practice. The city of Toronto/Etobicoke has very kind home zoning by-laws as they apply to the kind of work that I do, and I’m lucky to have a designated space with high ceilings and hardwood floors in my house to do it in.
I plan to finish formatting and publishing my book on Restorative Matwork, and my private roster is fully booked. All of our regular private and semiprivate clients are accounted for in my plan, and for the most part schedules can remain the same. The only change is the location which I will personally advise you of. For regular group class clients I have taken a contract with a Wellness Centre in Port Credit to set up their Pilates programme with some of Bravebody’s teachers, (but managed by the Wellness Centre.) effective January 2011. I will keep you posted via their website as we hash out the details.
Thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart for helping to make me a better teacher.
Alisa Walton
